Key items for my summer wardrobe.
I didn’t plan on ever talking about fashion on this blog, especially since I’m usually just wearing whatever feels comfortable that day but reading about everyone else raving about spring and being able to wear different, new clothes, I decided to talk about what I will be wearing this summer:
.. Cut off denim skirt – Mine is very, very old already and used to be much longer than it is now. Two years ago, I decided to take the scissors to it and just cut it off. I like the frayed seem and the tiny holes and scratches all over. That skirt has been a trusty friend for years and I have no intention to leave it in the closet this summer!
.. Military-style jacket – I actually already bought mine last year but couldn’t bring myself to ever wear it often. When you wear one of those jackets you really need to lay low on accessories, or so I feel, and I wasn’t in the mood to do that. Now that I do own a pair of skinny jeans again, I do love wearing the jacket though!
.. Oversized denim shirt – On my recent trip to London, I managed to finally buy a denim shirt that has the perfect pastel colour for spring! Wearing it like a cardigan over a long tank top or buttoned up with a broad belt around the waist – some days I cannot decide what I like better!
.. Floppy sun hat – To be honest, I think those hats are ridiculous and the most impractical things but they do add that special edge to each summer outfit. I’ll be rocking mine at the music festivals I plan on attending this year!
.. Wood wedges – I never realized shoes could be this comfortable! I love wedges and they go perfectly with any kind of outfit in the summer!
.. Summer dresses – Almost everything in my closet is of solid colour – you don’t find patterns anywhere. Well, that is true for jeans, t-shirts and pullovers. My dresses however are all kinds of colourful and bare the most outrages flower prints! I love how versatile they can be – as soon as you exchange the cardi for a leather jacket, your outfit gives off a completely different vibe!
