One thing that definitely hasn’t changed over the years is my admiration for boys in bands. Guys with instruments? Yes, please. Meet those handsome dudes.

Imaginary Boyfriend no. 1: Zack Merrick.

Zack, aged 21, is one of the four members of US band All Time Low. He is one of the few bandom-related people whom I actually had the pleasure of meeting in person. And what a funny situation that was.

I’m into carefully crafted tattoos (and Zack has quite some) and nose rings on guys are oddly cute, don’t you think?

I really do love his voice when he sings to back-up Alex, whether it is at the big, full band shows or small acoustic sets during interviews.

Watching Zack on stage is a funny thing – bassists do move differently than, say, guitarists – have you ever noticed? When I first paid attention to Zack’s movements, I was reminded so much of The Young Veins’ Jon Walker (which, to me, was so hilarious as Jon and Zack are completely different types of people).

And it’s exactly that what made shooting Zack at the shows so terribly hard – when he’s close enough to actually stand by the microphone and edge of the stage, said microphone usually gets in the way. And if he’s not doing that, he’s rocking out with the other guys and moving at a speed that makes getting clear picture that is not blurred in any way quite impossible. I’d rather see him have fun on stage than stand still though!

Now, if you’re not convinced yet that this guy is just utterly adorable, then you need to watch the following video. It features not only fellow band mate Rian but also Zack with longer hair, which when long curls cutely.

Imaginary Boyfriend no. 2: Alexander Deleon.

Alex Deleon, still sometimes referred to as ‘Singer’, is, in fact singer of Las Vegas native band ‘The Cab’. He’s yet to turn 21 in less than ten days but when he writes his blog posts or songs, he sounds wise beyond his age.

While his band has recently lost quite a couple of members, Alex sure hasn’t lost his ambition and faith in the band. The band is working on a new record and recently, Alex was so kind as to broadcast a live stream straight from the recording booth.

On stickam, he seems to be one of the most genuine and nicest people in the music business and from what I heard about people meeting him, that is definitely not just an act on the internet.

Alex is also the guy who inspired me to get the ‘inspire’-necklace I had made from Cupcakes and Mace. He’s got the word tattooed on his right shoulder.

If there’s any doubt left in you that he is definitely a great dude, then watch this interview.

3. Imaginary Boyfriend no. 3: Brendon Urie.

Now, I’d be pretty surprised if you haven’t heard of Brendon Urie and his band yet.

After all, he’s in that band with ‘that wedding song‘.

Brendon seems to be such a goofball, being able to crack jokes at all times. He does take what he does, music, very serious though. Have you ever heard him sing? His voice is one of the few that I’d be able to pick out from over thousands of voices.

But it’s not only singing that he’s brilliant at – he is able to play about any instrument you can imagine: bass and rhythm guitar, piano, organ, cello, accordion and the drums are on his list.

Music genius? I think so.

While it was mostly Ryan Ross to write songs for Panic! before his departure from the band last summer, Brendon’s ditty on the band’s second record show that he’s clearly capable of writing clever, witty lyrics himself (I don’t need to repeat that he’s overly talented as far as musical arrangements go, right?).

His ‘cute’ factor has gradually shifted over the years to ‘wow, hot’. Cuddle piles with the entire band are a thing of the past as is hand-holding with ex-fellow band member Ryan, but playing and falling asleep next to his dog, a tiny Jack Russell terrier called Humphrey Bogart, are still things Brendon enjoys.

Brendon is one of those guys who simply lighten up the room as soon as they walk in.

Imaginary Boyfriend no. 4: Caleb Turman.

I have very seldom met a guy with such a warm, welcoming aura like Caleb from Forever The Sickest Kids. And I know quite a couple of people who would actually agree with me!

He is a member of one of the few bands I actually went to see live but had never really heard of before and was so surprised and blown away by their set and the energy that radiated off of them.

One of the things I adore about his looks? His very awesome ginger hair. Although there’s this saying that gingers have no soul (yeah, really?), I found Caleb to be a kindred soul – after all, my friend Ann, he and I bonded over hair-related issues (I had pink highlights at the time and apparently, he loved it).

Caleb gives awesome hugs – those you don’t have to ask for, they come out of the blue – and high fives, plus he’s super-tall (which made our photo together super-awkward!).

As you can probably guess from my rambling: I’m totally smitten with this guy. From his hair to the check shirts to his cute dogs, one of them called King Louie (and does actually have his own twitter account!), to his moccasins – he’s plain adorable.

I wish Forever The Sickest Kids were one of the bands who’d tour Europe and especially Germany more, so we could all see more of him!
